BAML Superday Questions

Hi everyone, as superdays are coming out for more banks recently, I was hoping to get some input about what to expect for potential Bank of America superdays. I know there are two interviews (one behavioral, one technical) but am curious what questions people have gotten in the past and what the bank is looking for. any help is appreciated!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, for Bank of America (BofA) Superdays, candidates have shared their experiences and the types of questions they encountered. Here's a breakdown to help you prepare:

Behavioral Interview:

  • Tell us about yourself and why BofA: This is a classic opener. Be prepared to succinctly summarize your background, why you're interested in investment banking, and specifically, why you want to work at BofA.
  • Key accomplishment: Be ready to discuss a key accomplishment that illustrates your personal initiative and drive to push beyond what is required. This is your chance to highlight your work ethic and achievements.
  • Major event and its impact on markets: This question tests your awareness of financial markets and your ability to analyze how major events can influence them. It's a good idea to be up-to-date with recent market-moving events and have a couple of examples ready to discuss.
  • Quick learning experience: You might be asked about a time you quickly learned a new skill or adapted to a new situation. This question assesses your adaptability and eagerness to learn.

Technical Interview:

  • Financial Modeling and Valuation: Be prepared for questions on DCF (Discounted Cash Flow), LBO (Leveraged Buyout), and M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions) modeling. Understanding the basics and being able to walk through these models is crucial.
  • Accounting Questions: Questions might cover the three financial statements, how they interlink, and the impact of various transactions on them.
  • Market Trends: You could be asked about current trends in the market, recent deals in the news, or your opinion on market movements. This tests your market knowledge and interest in finance.

What Bank of America is Looking For:

  • Analytical Skills: Your ability to break down complex problems and analyze financial data is key.
  • Cultural Fit: BofA, like many banks, looks for candidates who can fit into their culture and work well with their teams. Demonstrating teamwork, leadership, and a positive attitude is important.
  • Passion for Finance: Show that you have a genuine interest in finance and investment banking. Be ready to discuss why you're choosing this career path.

Remember, preparation is key. Review your resume, be ready to discuss anything you've listed on it, and practice your responses to common questions. Also, preparing insightful questions to ask your interviewers can leave a positive impression.

Good luck with your Superday!
