Banking Credit Exits
Sitting on a graduate analyst offer from a European Bank (BNP/Santander/CACIB) to do credit/lending in NYC. It’s a mix of corporate credit, leveraged lending, project finance, portfolio management, and origination. Base is fine and WLB is good, but this comes with meh bonuses. How are exits from this type of role? I have other offers for MM Cov IB, but the culture and experience at those other places is really not worth it.
From the sound of it I’m assuming that position the CIB - Corporate and Leveraged Finance at CACIB. I’m at a bank in the US with a similar group. Exits are basically lateraling to other banks/moving to different groups internally (DCM/LevFin/Corporate Banking). Outside of banking, primarily Private Credit is a massive exit. Additionally we’ve had people go corporate development since it’s a lot of underwriting of RCFs/TLs/Bridge facilities.
