Barclays Blatant Disregard for Employee Safety
https://www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/barclays-re…
Barclays has exhibited a blatant disregard for employees safety. There has been a confirmed case of Coronavirus in the Barclays building, yet employees are still being asked to continue working. They have been asked to continue operating the entire building and trading floor as normal which is aggeegious.
Other banks such as CS, MS and GS has already started contingency plans even without any confirmed cases.
Barclays has a confirmed case and has yet still forced employees to continue going in. There is a person who works at MS, but is roommates with someone at Barclays who doesn't even work on the same floor and MS had told the person to quarantine, yet the person at Barclays had been asked to continue working in the normal course of business.
Barclays is sending the message to employees that working at the office is more of a concern than their own employees health at a time when their is a confirmed case in the building.
I don't personally work at Barclays, but no many people who work there and are very scared for their health and safety.
This is unacceptable by Barclays and is not a precedent any other bank should follow. This is a black mark that will last on Barclays legacy.
Telling people to come to the office after there has been a confired case, reflects poorly on Barclays senior management. At a certain point Barclays needs to take the health and safety of their employees into consideration.
Hope everyone who works at Barclays stays safe. Please be careful!
