Barclays SuperDay Response Timeline

Hi guys, posting this under the IB forum, I'm new to posts and was wondering if anyone had any insight into Barclays response time after SuperDays? I had mine on 2/1 for their ‘24 International Corporate Banking SA program but have not heard back yet. I am confident I performed well and connected with both of my interviewers however I've read that Barclays is known to be slower than the other banks but does this still hold true today?

Hey there! Based on the most helpful WSO content, it's not uncommon for candidates to feel a bit anxious after a Super Day, especially when it's with a big player like Barclays. Here's what I can tell you:

  • Response Time: Barclays, like many other large banks, can have varying response times post-Super Day. It can range from the same day to a couple of weeks. The timeline can be influenced by the number of candidates they're interviewing, the number of positions available, and internal review processes.

  • Following Up: If it's been a few days and you haven't heard back, it's perfectly acceptable to send a polite follow-up email to your HR contact or the person who coordinated your Super Day. This shows your continued interest and can sometimes prompt a response.

  • Patience is Key: While waiting can be tough, patience is important. Keep in mind that the recruitment process often involves multiple layers of decision-making.

  • Stay Prepared: In the meantime, continue preparing for other opportunities and interviews. This will ensure you're ready for any outcome and keep you focused on your overall goal.

Remember, each bank's process is unique, and while Barclays may have a reputation for being slower, it's not a hard and fast rule. Keep networking and stay positive! If you need more specific advice on follow-up etiquette or anything else, the WSO forums are a great place to seek wisdom from those who've navigated the process before.

Sent an email to the recruiter today, as well as people I got close with during the networking process. I still have yet to hear back.

Even though this was for a tech analyst internship…my roommate was essentially ghosted by Barclays for about 2 months before getting the verbal confirmation of the offer. And then they took another 2 weeks to float the written offer.

hey king, was in your shoes last year and it took a really, really long time.. but i did diversity day (the same timeline as this year) and got mine right about now. so hold tight, and answer the call on the first ring or you'll be batshit crazy for the next three and a half hours trying to get through to HR again.
