BB Structured Credit Research Offer. Worth Taking or Keep Recruiting?

Hey all,

I’ve been recruiting for IB SA 26 roles for a while now and unfortunately didn’t land an offer at any of the firms I was targeting. It’s been a tough cycle, and I’m trying to stay grounded and realistic.

That said, I just received an offer for a Credit Finance Research role at a BB. I’m grateful for the opportunity, but also confused. This team focuses on structured products (RMBS, CMBS, ABS, CLOs, etc.) and dives deep into the modeling and analysis of securitized credit markets while working closely with S&T.

My long-term goal is to break into IB or Growth Equity, and I’m trying to figure out if this role will be a helpful stepping stone — or if I should keep looking for other off-cycle opportunities.
