If you had to start a job at Deloitte and wanted to end up in IB, what groups would be best to target? Anything other than their own IB division.....

Anything in their M&A group helps ("Deloitte Corporate Finance" is their investment bank, but I've seen people make it to banking from the "M&A Advisory Group"). Alternatively, anything in the S&O group, though not directly relevant, can work as a positive signal.
What is the Deloitte M&A Advisory Group? truly M&A? made up of cpa's?
Hey, so as far as I know Deloitte's Deal department has 4 different service groups: Corporate Finance, Transaction Services, Valuation and Restructuring.
The Corporate Finance team is essentially doing IB work such as lead M&A advisory and fund raising. If you would like to go into IB I would definitely suggest CF.
TS provides financial due diligence services and is more accounting-focused.
In the UK Deloitte CF and PwC CF are mainly working on middle market or LMM deals and they have pretty good deal flow.
