Big 4 Infrastructure M&A to Infrastructure/Power/Utilities IB?

I don't see much talk about big 4 infrastructure M&A here, wondering if an internship here will set me up for a chance at an infrastructure coverage group at an IB if I'm coming from a non-target.

If you’re early on in your studies I would dare say that Big 4 is always solid name brand experience to have on your CV, especially so an M&A group that has specific exposure to the coverage group you want to end up in.

Keep in mind that, when recruiting for a coverage internship in IB, you are initially recruiting across coverage groups and will be interviewed by bankers with various industry focuses. So remember to speak to your broader knowledge of investment banking for the recruiting session and then save the potential die hard “x coverage is all I want” for networking the placements after you have an offer.

Best of luck!

Hey Avil, thank you for your time, I would say I am a bit early in my studies, will be doing this internship at the end of sophomore year and agree the name brand will be a great addition.

Will keep in mind the point about initial recruiting being cross-coverage, I appreciate it a lot!
