Blackstone Advisory in London
Anyone have any colour on the group both from an external perspective (prestige, dealflow, exits) and internal (hours, work style, personalities in the office)?
very solid group, most guys seem pretty easygoing though work hours are the same as everywhere else. have worked with them on a mandate before so they will come up on various assignments though I think in general their dealflow is not comparable to a BB (might be wrong here).
enjoy all the BX perks for what its worth, so great dinner allowance, travel etc. top of the line
I think the group includes their restructuring advisory group. Guess this desk is strong?

I have an upcoming SA interview with BX London - M&A and Restructuring. I can imagine it will be very technical.
Any thoughts on Blackstone advisory brand in London? Is it possible to work for 2 years in London and then come back to the U.S.? Or intern at BX London and start FT in US?

They haven't transferred any analysts from London to NY yet although they've indicated it's something they may consider.
Brand is nowhere near as strong as in NYC but they are expanding here. Great offices.
Interviews are intense and long and yes, very technical.
interview's next week along with other divisions w/in BX.

Has anyone heard back regarding BX Advisory Analyst and PE Analyst 2014 applications (London)? I applied more than a month ago and the deadline was on 27/10, but no news yet.
Perhaps someone tried in previous years and can share some info on when and what to expect? Especially would appreciate comments from anyone who was eventually offered a FT position or invited for an interview.

It's quick, and they also hire through headhunters for A1.

Also, I heard they hired one PE analyst for next year this summer through headhunters, do you know if advisory analysts were also hired that way? Still, they had open positions till recently on the website and I'm wondering if anyone has been contacted after they applied online.
