I did but wasn't seeing anything recent. Saw some things from 2019, but not 2020
Agreed not too much recent info pops up when you use the search function
Google with words "wall street oasis"... works much better
Solid MM. Signing bonus is below the street. The biggest perk is they give almost everyone offers. They recruit almost only from their core schools and they recruit early.
Analysts receive higher base and signing than most BB's. Retention 25%. None of this is accurate at all
The analyst base is 85k and signing bonus is 7.5k. The NY office had 30 interns and Chicago had 18. There were lots of groups that gave all interns offers. If you were at all competent and kinda normal you got an offer. They do a ton of accelerated recruiting but you need a referral or come from one of their core schools. I did hear that global markets interns got screwed though. Happy to answer any other questions. (Source: interned there this summer and received FT offer).
For the U.S., they are MM, though they compete for some larger mandates in specific sectors (e.g., M&M). They are still a Tier 2 MM and there's been a tremendous amount of turnover lately, so it remains unclear where things are headed.
Where have they had the most turnover? Specific groups? Or cities?
Chicago and Minneapolis
They also layoff associates for 'performance' in Toronto every year it seems like. Makes it feel as though you need to be at PJT levels of competence but working for....BMO.
Can confirm this is true. There's a global ranking of associates and every year they just cut people at the bottom.
Here's a list of BMO left-leads (admin agent) since June 2020 (1H20). They are strong in middle market leveraged finance, structuring, arranging and executing middle market deals such as an LBO, for sponsor-backed companies,
