Goal is to work at an EB in IB in NYC after graduation
Is this viable as an Economics major from Boston College?
Or is OCR and networking events only favorable for CSOM students?
anything is possible with enough networking, however just speaking from a general standpoint. EB generally do not recruit from BC. People go to places like Deutsche, Harris Williams. But not so much Lazard,Centerview,Moelis (does not mean not possible).
One thing I would do during networking is highlight how your academics are different from everyone else (highlight the philosophy and the Jesuit education of BC), and distinguish yourself from the million Finance majors the firms' see
