Boutique interview (Europe)

Hey guys,

So today I was at an interview at a small boutique IB (regional no name). The first stage of the interview process was done through a third party recruiting firm.

So the first encounter was a comment about one typo I made in my personal letter, which shocked me considering I had been looking through it several times. Anyways, this kind of lowered my confidence for the rest of the interview but I really kept my "flame going" so to say, but she insinuated throughout the interview that I would be more suited for the sales team (bringing in new clients) rather than corporate finance analyst (analysing markets, creating reports and presentations) no matter how much I declared my passion for working in this boutique analysing firms and doing reports and helping smaller firms grow though ECM and DCM.

This kind of makes me annoyed because I was really enthusiastic about the role and this was interpreted as me being a non fit for the role, and it seems that the recruiter decided to turn this against me.

So, next time. Should I not be very enthusiastic? What gives?
