Boutique Investment Banking Internship
Anyone have advice on trying to secure a boutique investment banking internship as a sophomore? Not really sure on where to start researching firms and cold reaching out. Would love to hear about someones process on getting one.
A pretty solid approach is to find investment banks in your local area and screen the companies for any alums. Pretty easy to do on linkedin. The issue is that most boutique firms do not have official applications or recruiting programs, especially the smaller ones that are likely to take soph interns, so the only way to get your foot in the door is to express interest directly. Can also look at linkedin to see where people from your school have interned in the past, and then ask them if they would be willing to chat or connect you with people they worked with there. Sophomore year internships are tough, mostly a complete thing of luck, so would not be to stressed. At least that's what I have heard.
