Breaking into IB from University of Florida
I am currently a high school student but it is very likely that I'll be going to the University of Florida. I was wondering how hard it would be to get into investment banking from a non target like UF. Both of my parents graduated from UF and one of their friends got into a good MBA program at a target school after graduation. Is that my best shot of getting into investment banking? How hard would it be to get into a target MBA program? Would it be any easier than going straight into investment banking? Thanks for the help.
Holy shit I'm done with this website
Oh, thank goodness.
From what I've heard, Raymond James (HQ: St.Pete) and SunTrust Atlanta are your best bets for IB. Great firms and pay is mostly in line with street (80+40k last time I checked). Also gonna send you a PM :)
Get into the dual UG / MSF program.
Out of a class of 30 each year, ~10 go to BBs / EBs / top MM, another 10 go IB at WF / STRH / RJ, and the remainder place well into F500 and other spots.
