Bulge Bracket SA Class Sizes
How big is an SA class size for each bank? Especially interested in DB tbh, but seeing comparisons across BBs would be cool to see.

I'd say on average most of them are about as large as the search bar is long

i think in general around 20-25. This year it was very high so it was avg more around 30

MS has around 70/80 in North America I believe. It’s one of the smaller classes for a BB.

Citi had 120 in IB in US / Canada, of which 90 were in IB NYC, plus an additional 39 in Capital Markets in summer 2019
Globally, in 2020, JPM took in:
~450 IB analysts
~200 S&T Analysts
Projecting this maybe 7500-10000 spots on IB desk excluding S&T for the world?
Assuming ~10 BB of same size and then ~20 banks recruiting half of the 450
Truist’s Corporate and Investment Banking SA class size is 90, with 47 going into pure IB. Obviously it’s not a BB, but the newly merged company places it as the sixth largest bank in the U.S. That said, I’d have to imagine it’s closer in SA size to the BB’s than MM’s so I think the BB SA classes are probably 100-120 IBD (maybe 70 pure IB)
I think Truist is probably much smaller on the IB side than many of your big players in IB. the JPM post above says 178 so double. Imagine your big 8 are al around this same size them big mm are probably more in the truist size of recruiting.
