Can I put list a referral on an application if I spoke to them 6+months ago?
I spoke to a director level alum late last year, had a good conversation (I think), and now a position opened up at their company. I haven't spoken to them since but want to use them as a referral. Should I reach out again/give them an update on myself + the application or just list their name on the application without talking?
I wouldn't list referral without talking to them more recently, but it's your choice
Fair enough, just wanted to see what was the best way to approach this.
Give em a call up again that the app came in or something
I only put them if I have their permission to do so.
"Hello ___
I hope all is well. I noticed a job posting for ___ at ___ recently got published. I'm super interested in this role and was wondering if I can list you as a referral. If you are free, I'd love to catch up with how you have been these last few months and hear any advice you might have to lend me.
Thanks,
"
