can u wear flip-flops into work to drop off a form
I need to drop off my signed offer letter and pick up a drug test form from HR today. Problem is it is 100 degrees here in Texas.
I think its super gay that i have to put on "work" clothes to go in for 10 minutes. Dress code is very business casual in the office.
what do u guys usually wear to drop in and deal with HR? this corporate BS is grinding my gears. thanks
thanks thats what i needed to hear
Yeah, why risk it? Just dress up for the stupid 10 minutes. After you're done, rush home and change.
if you are going to work for Walmart then yes do it
"super gay"?
Its not about "risking" it, its about being professional.
The fact that you're even considering walking into a corporate office where you'll be working in flip flops is fucking ridiculous.
On the weekends and after 5 PM, I will show up in a T-shirt (sometimes tattered), shorts, and fakenstocks. A lot of other guys do it, too.
During the day, it's best to wear business formal if HR is wearing business formal. If HR wears b-cazsh, you can probably get away with that. But don't wear flip-flops.
Not worth the potential, yet highly unlikely, consequences.
Truthfully, if you worked there already and your boss called you on the way to the beach and asked you to swing by to drop off some paperwork or something, then I might say, "No big deal". But being you don't technically have a job there yet, you should put your best (fully covered) foot forward and not risk it.
Regards
Buy some Dockers. Cut them down the seams. Sew on Velcro. Rip off pants the second you walk out. Done.
its a state of mind. I mean there are more than enough examples of succesfull people dressing up to work in their home or at their own firm.
I would recommend a pin stripe suit, french cuffs, and a pair of Berluti's
use your judgement on this one, which should be telling you to at least dress business casual...
go b-cas.......you never know who you might run into
I stopped at BB office to pick up a form from HR in shorts, t shirt and running shoes... I walked down the desk and when asked where I was going I said the gym which is across the street. Turns out a few people also work out there so it was a no brainer... I doubt anyone would care as you are still "off" and not working yet.
FYI... this was in texas as well and july heat is a mother
jump in the pool fully clothed and you will be dryer than you would be wearing a suit in the texas heat.
Walked into my consulting office few months ago wearing flip flops to drop off my laptop to be fixed. IT guys said it'll take an hour, so ended up waiting it out. Not the most comfortable moments hanging out in the office, especially because they were interviewing the same day. But EOD, didn't run into anyone who knew me, no one said anything, and I still have a job.
Did you really describe this situation as 'super gay'? What are you, retarded?
Oh come on man, quit acting holier than thou, you know exactly what that means.

I think you missed the irony in his post...
As a gay man, I find the comment offensive and the utterer classless.
Oh, I didn't click the link. Word.
