Career in IB with a BA and a MsC

Good afternoon everyone! In a few months, I'll be graduating from Bocconi University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Law. I passed the entrance exam for the Master of Science (MSC) in Finance at Bocconi. I'd like to pursue a career in investment banking, first as an analyst (front office roles) and then moving up. However, many people (including several professors and people in BB/EB) have told me that having a Bachelor of Arts instead of a Bachelor of Science will be a huge disadvantage, and even with a Master of Science, it will be very difficult for me to get into IB or Private Equity. What do you think? Are they right, or do I have a chance?

When I chose Global Law as a course at Bocconi, it was because I thought that having a knowledge of law would help me a lot for any MSc I would do, because the combination of law + finance would help me rather than just something financial (BSC in Finance + MSC in Finance).

So it's not a problem to compete with those who studied finance/management/economics even in their undergraduate degree?
