first round with two analysts, had my first one yesterday and next one tomorrow. They recruit generally for Seattle but I was told that if you had a preference to be in LA to make it known to your interviewer, not sure what is next after the first round

rlly random but had two phone screens w analysts last nov or smth (for 2024 SA), but knew nothing abt ib at the time and got dinged. the analysts seemed pretty nice

Anyone get any updates on process - had my 2nd round last week but haven't heard back regarding next rounds. (I know it's only been a weekend but the anxiety is killing me)

Saw some 27 year old MBA loser on tiktok post some cringe and he works there. Tells you all you need to know about what kind of shop it is.

Unironically has anyone tried to rollup street meat carts in nyc? Apparently they're worth like $1mm each based on pricing for their "territories", although I have no clue what their "financials" (if they even keep track of those) look like. I could see that deal being firmly in the $100mm+ range.

Or done something like cab medallion financing? I know these are all meme transactions but would there actually be any value here?

(obvious reporting/cash management/general accounting procedure issues aside)

Mf's told me to expect to be speaking with more people soon after the first round a month ago then ghosted me

Don't let this guy psyche you out. I got my offer from them two months ago.

The best way to describe the process is that, it is indeed a process, but it starts and stops for each candidate uniquely.

E.g. I started networking/interviewing in late April, then went through their entire interview process and got the offer in May. A friend of mine did the same thing but a month earlier.

Ended up accepting an offer here back in May for SA 2024... If anyone else has accepted PM me. Would love to connect.
