Chances of transferring into Wharton from semi target

I’m a freshman at a semi target (Duke, Hopkins, Northwestern) with a 4.0, in the top finance club and have an internship, but looking to transfer because I’m not that happy here (unrelated to recruiting). Looking at uChicago, which I’d almost definitely get into if I used their binding option, but Wharton would be my top choice. Not using the binding option could end up with me not getting into either (probably a 50% chance at Chicago). Since some of you have transferred to Wharton, I was wondering what you think I should do in this situation.

Seeing as your reasoning is "unrelated to recruiting," I think it is far more critical that you try to transfer to the school with the highest chance you enjoying it. Do you love Chicago? If so, use the binding option. Who cares if one more kid gets into IB from Wharton than Chicago, if you love the school you are at you will do much better (and trust me, Chicago kids do just fine recruiting). Do you love Wharton significantly more than Chicago? Then try to take a chance to get into Wharton, and if you strike out at both schools try to change something about Duke to enjoy it more. What about Columbia and Cornell? Both are roughly similar in terms of recruiting to Chicago/Wharton if you are as qualified as you seem, and offer similar but distinct campus lives than either (or Duke for that matter).

Thanks. I think I would like Wharton significantly more than Chicago, but if I only have an 8% chance of getting in there, it would be a bad move to not use the binding decision at Chicago. I'm looking to get some specific data on what it takes to get into Wharton as a transfer since there isn't much online.
