Not exactly, but I think they want to hire out of EID. Gives them a good opportunity to get to know you outside of interviews. If you show your mentor you are genuinely interested and you know your stuff, odds are probably pretty good.

 

Has anyone heard back for full program schedule/mentor pairing yet? Capital Markets (NYC) and I haven't heard back after accepting the invite yet

 

eid is a recruiting hedge. banks fill seats early to reduce variance.

conversion rates are high. it is cheaper to hire you now than run a full process later.

treat the mentor pairing as a behavioral exam. be normal. it is yours to lose.
