Columbia Engineering from Bowdoin College
Hello, this is my first post on here and I am excited to join this community. I recently committed to Bowdoin College for the amazing student life and undergraduate research. At Bowdoin, I am able to transfer to Columbia for engineering during my junior year and get a degree from Bowdoin (a BA) and a degree from Columbia ( a BSc). I am planning to get a mathematics and economics degree from Bowdoin and then continue with a degree in financial engineering from Columbia. This could take up to 5 years, so my question is: Does it really matter since Bowdoin is still an elite college relative to the Ivy League. Would I get a leg up going to Columbia? On a side note, can someone briefly speak to Physics vs. Mathematics for Wall Street? There are two routes for the engineering: mathematics and physics (with Physics being the easier route meaning it'll be more like a 2-2 program rather than 3-2).

Acknowledging that this post is quite old, I'd love to hear some thoughts as an individual in a similar situation!
IB recruiting is done by sophomore year, but Bowdoin should be fine. It's not guaranteed, especially seeing you're an international student. You need to network a lot and not be picky with firms unless you're extraordinary / well-connected.
