Columbia SPS?

Hi, I've got an offer to study in the Risk program at Columbia SPS. Just wondering how this program & SPS are viewed in Wall Str? Does it help getting a job at a big bank? I'm international student, looking to get some experience working in the US.

Congrats on the offer! That's a big step. Now, based on the most helpful WSO content, Columbia's programs are generally well-regarded and can open doors in the finance industry. However, the specific reputation and outcomes of the Risk program at Columbia SPS isn't something I can speak to directly.

What I can tell you is that landing a job at a big bank often depends on a combination of factors, including your academic performance, networking efforts, and interview skills. Being an international student can add another layer of complexity, but it's not an insurmountable challenge.

I'd recommend reaching out to alumni from the program on LinkedIn to get a sense of their experiences and career trajectories. They might be able to provide more specific insights. Also, don't forget to make full use of the career services at Columbia - they can be a great resource for job hunting and interview prep.

Remember, the journey to Wall Street can be a wild ride, but as your friendly neighborhood monkey, I'm here to help you navigate it. Keep the questions coming!
