Columbia Vs. Kellogg MBA for IBD

Hello - throwaway account here, obviously.

I'm wondering if there is a significant difference in recruitment for Columbia Vs Kellogg. The more 'obvious' choice, is Columbia, but is there any merit to the choose Kellogg for less competition argument?

Thank you in advance for your time!

Yes, that it is total admissions office propaganda, but was surprised to see that only 35 people were recruting for IBD summer internships. Another datapoint is that I went to a Kellogg Alumni dinner recently and a former Merrill MD was adamant that virtually everyone at Kellogg who is interested in IBD gets a job. Perhaps I am just telling myself this because I am about to choose Kellogg over Booth/CBS, but I do think there is something to the "less competition" argument.

Most people who want IBD get it at both schools. The difference is at CBS you'll have 30 firms on campus, at Kellogg you'll have half that (though you can still recruit those others firms, its just harder without them being at OCR and not having established alumni to connect with). You'll also have three to four times the network from CBS. I think if you just want BB, you can't go wrong with either. I think if you are interested in boutiques, CBS is the way to go.

But in reality, you should get a IB job from either school unless you are a bad candidate, and then you won't get one from either.
