Yes.If you’re working at a bigger bank that leads deals (and therefore more sell-side focused) it is a quasi-IB role. You get great transaction experience and work on many real deals from start to finish. Typically get paid well relative to the hours and if not you have strong exits thanks to the skill set + transaction experience.

If you’re working at a small bank that does participations it’s the exact same job as working at a credit fund. The name of the bank might not be sexy but you are evaluating lots of deals and picking which ones to invest in. Interesting work; good experience, and probably really good hours.
