I switched from CB to IB. Would say things around the lines of how I felt like the learning curve have flattened in CB and I’m looking for more of a fast paced and challenging role. Would also talk about how I want to build out my M&A experience, how I want to gain sell side M&A experience and focus on that rather than the capital raising transactions I’ve been working on in CB. Then I might throw in there how I’ve worked around M&A on the financing side, and those have been my favorite and most interesting deals and I’m looking to be more involved in those M&A processes. One line I liked to use was talking about my experience and saying how I felt like there were 3 buckets to the banking experience: debt, equity and M&A, and how I have worked on plenty of debt and equity deals but now I’m looking to build out experience in that M&A bucket. Hope that helps
