Corporate Banking VS IB Comp
Obviously we all know IB comp rarely well now, although CB comp seems to be hard to find. Does anyone have any insights, or for those with full time offer have any comp to share?

Barclays is way lower than street for CB even with being under the CIB umbrella
Bump… curious about bonuses in corporate banking
I guess its really bank dependent but some of the comp numbers I see here are so comically low I think the people who write them do so to just circle jerk over IB, i've seen people repeatedly say 100k all in at VP level at a BB and 200k all in as a Director.
I am at a balance sheet bank and A1s get: 10k sign on, 100k base, and 40% bonus so all in comp would be around 150k for an A1, I do not have any first hand figures for Associates yet so I'll leave them out. VP's earn around 500k all in.
Directors at my bank make 250k Base and more than that in bonus so all in will be around 750k - 1m, I don't know what MD numbers are like.
Like I said you'll probably get some incorrect numbers but the range I gave you above is 100% what it is at least at my bank but I don't see how a balance sheet bank would pay more than Barclays, Citi or JPM hence why I believe those other commenters are making them up
Thank you for honest and transparent numbers, def hard to find on WSO and anywhere else in general. I have heard that like JPM and Citi have same base as IB an1 base. Although I do agree I think Barclays is low… they pay 110 base for IB but I saw a job posting for analyst level with base salary of 85k def think they need to update like other banks.
How many hours do they work?
Varies greatly… I know some that are 40-60 hours a week and some that are 80-90+ hours a week (JPM)
At my bank CB gets the same base as IB, at least through associate, with a pretty small bonus - 20-30% probably. But also one of the banks where it is grouped with IB and CB ends up working 60-80 hours most weeks
Like $140-160k entry level, probably like $400-600k for top end avg to slightly above avg performers.
Base salary or total comp?
Total comp
Base is in line with IBD 90-110k, bonus is smaller 20-40% but i’d bet its like 10-30% heading into downturn.
What’s your opinion on laterals, anyone you know that has moved from CB to IB coverage role?
same base and around half the bonus. 20-25% less hours
Something to keep in mind is the inconsistency of salaries in CB.
As an analyst, base salaries either are close to IB or match it.
Only a few banks match base salaries with IB at associate level and up. This is slowly changing for the better.
