The first cut will likely be the biggest so this was in line with my expectation

 

no one on here will have any idea what’s actually going to happen with new grads. CS grads make up half the combined analyst class—they took the place of half the UBS analysts that were supposed to come in July. If you want a prediction then they’re probably going to need the first year analysts in the short term, but long term who knows.

 

All those that were given notice stopped coming into the office. Feels like a ghost town. Morale at the office is... devasted to say the least.

Associate 1 in IB-M&A

80 out of 260 CS LDN IB employees to be let go. 17 MDs, 17 Ds, and 12 VPs and the rest from ASO and ANL. In LDN, the law requires early post of layoff details. The cut will likely happen on 7/31.

You need the senior guys to coordinate layoffs of the Jr guys. Poor performing MDs will happen in probably the final round
