CVP/EVR vs GS TMT/FIG/MS

Lucky enough to have offers from 3 out of the 4 places listed above for 2023 SA (all for the New York office). Base compensation doesn't seem to be too different (not sure how bonus changes all-in compensation). Curious which offer is best compensation-wise and if I'm thinking about exiting to PE/HF after 2 years.

I wonder what's with all these prospects and interns that are so gung-ho about EBs on this forum. OP i'm in a GS TMT/MS M&A group that I picked over multiple EBs and you'd be stupid to turn down GS TMT for CVR/EVR. If you can guarantee you get M&A at MS that is also = to GS TMT (not sure if you can guarantee though).

MS me all you want you prospects.

If you’re actually a top kid they will quietly promise you a group you want. I had CVP/EVR offer and was able to get someone to tell me I’d have a spot in their group. MS M&A returns two thirds of the interns tho… not sure that risk is worth it. Also, MC and Tech do their own M&A, so you don’t rly get to see those deals if that’s what you are looking for.
agree that EBs are overhyped by the prospects, but idk who would risk placement at MS or JPM instead of taking EVR/CVP. GS group-specific offer is different story.

pm me if you want i have recent exit opps for each listed – either way I lean GS for brand if you ever are thinking of opps outside of finance, and esp since you have literally one of the top groups on the street

also fwiw i've seen kids go directly from GS SA to PE for FT
