Cybersecurity focused boutiques?
I come from an engineering background and I’m thinking about joining a boutique that has a strong cybersecurity practice. Are there industry specialists similar to Greentech Capital in Energy/ FT Partners in Fintech? If not, which shops have a strong cyber practice?

DBO Partners (Tech focus, including Cyber) and Momentum Cyber (ONLY Cyber) both in SF.
DBO's cybersecurity practice is solid. They bolstered their team with a few additions from the industry in the past few years, and they've gained good traction.
Never heard of Momentum Cybersecurity. Looks like they've closed just 1 M&A deal in the past 18 months.
Heard Momentum's culture is awful. Big disconnect between senior and junior bankers, lots of busy work, and weak deal flow. Source - friends did off-cycle internships.
Yeah DBO Partners is active in security. If you move the goal post to something like enterprise software, you'll find many more firms that might fit your engineering background.

I did some research and looks like most cyber companies/deals are in CA, so I’m thinking SF.
