Dealing with Sleep Deprivation in Banking?

I hope many can relate but I have difficulty getting 7+ hours of sleep per night while working in Investment Banking. The time at which I sleep each night is oftentimes different (1am, 3am, 2am etc) on different nights. The result is that after a few nights of this, my speed and motivation will decline as the week goes on.

Is there a way you guys can:
1) Sleep at a more consistent time
2) Get higher quality of sleep
3) Better manage short but unreasonable timelines for sending materials

I appreciate any and all input

Try to recover night sleep during the weekends (although you will probably have to work on weekends or protected days, but you should have more flexibility) by avoiding going out and clubbing.

Tell you're staffer that you are already overworked, although this may come at a cost to your end year bonus, and make sure the materials you produce are top quality so you don't receive comments from VPs and MDs.

Reduce you caffeine intake, even though you thought that drinking a lot of coffee will help you to go through the day, actually it will worse your anxiety and will affect the quality of your sleep. In my case I decided to reduce my coffee intake from 5 coffees per day to only 2, and I am feeling much better.

If when you get home you want to go to bed ASAP to maximize your time of sleep but you struggle to fall asleep because the job gives you anxiety, I recommend you to have a copy of the SIE manual on your bedside table, and start readying some random chapter, I guarantee you will fall sleep within minutes.

Finally, try to avoid sleeping pills as much as possible, as these can be really addictive and create strong dependency.
