I go to Warwick + recieved multiple springs and offers for summer 25.

Your experience and uni brand is sufficient for you to get first-round interviews. Its up to you from there and your CV won't move the needle much after the initial stage. What IB experience did your uni batch do? Was it stuff like 2 week insights BCBF / MS / JPM and other insights weeks. Also will help to know if you are a UK student or international.

Lol no you don't need to know financial modelling. At most you need to know basic accounting and valuation.

Don't worry about the technicals nor your experience. I have seen so many times a person w 0 experience or technical knowledge get offers over an international student who knows BIWS 400 inside and out. Be likeable, normal and connect with your interviewers and you will go far.

I get what you are trying to communicate. I am just 18 and will begin university in approximately two months; 'I should live more'. But, you see, I am an international student. You have to be on top of your game to land an internship with a good firm. I don't have any connections in finance (not even the most distant ones), and I don't have much experience with IB in general. It is quite competitive out there. With so many disadvantages, I need to be twice as smart.I'm up against Oxbridge students with impressive CVs and referrals. There's no way anyone is going to let me in if I slack off.

You'll be sound, just apply for spring weeks when they open if you're actually interested in IB (as others have said, Warwick is a strong enough brand you'll get a look regardless), don't stress so much and enjoy the fact you're gonna be a first year at uni - you'll interview better if you have a personality outside of getting a hard on for finance

Warwick student here and doing an internship at a BB this summer.

Your work experience is better than most first years so you shouldn't have a problem with scoring interviews. As long as you're applying and doing well on the tests you should have no problem getting spring week offers. I recommend using an application tracker spreadsheet (I mostly used the Bristol Tracker) to apply and get involved with the Investment Banking Society.
