Deloitte Corporate Finance Chicago SA 2027

Recently received an invitation for DCF's first round interview for the Chicago office after I threw in an application without networking. Any insights into the office/culture/business model at the company?

You're not going to find many people that are educated on this bank (or educated at all) on this forum but let me shed some light. I was an intern there a few years ago but didn't take the RO because I decided to rerecruit for NYC (ignore title) and can shed some light.

As far as middle market banks go, this company is genuinely one of the gold mines that no one knows about if you don't mind not being in NYC for a year or two. Pay is either street or slightly below street (not too sure since I was an intern and didn't take RO) but the culture is significantly better than most groups on the street. Basically a big fraternity, especially the CLT office where I worked. Hours can be brutal, with many analysts and interns including myself having nights until 2-3 am, but culture is good and they let you come in late the next day without questioning you if you had a late night. Nearly half or more than half of the analyst class exits out to PE every year- obviously not MF's, but LMM/MM PE exits are commonplace. The other half either lateral to different banks, go to corpdev, or try and do A2A.

As for you specifically, I was not in Chicago but I know they're a bit more grindy than CLT. Pay will be the same as other offices I assume, maybe a bit higher to adjust for HCOL but not by much. Overall- if you like the idea of pure M&A in deal sizes with 5-50M ebitda and not being in NYC, then this is the bank for you. If not, then maybe somewhere else.
