Deutsche Superday SA FIC

Hi WSO,

I have an upcoming superday with Deutsche for their 2025SA FIC role. I was wondering if anyone had this superday I'd really appreciate some advice on how to tackle the case study and the technical questions.

Much appreciated!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some general tips and advice for tackling superday interviews, including case studies and technical questions:

General Superday Preparation:

  1. Technical Knowledge:

    • Ensure you have a solid understanding of basic finance concepts such as DCF, PE ratio, and bond price vs yield.
    • Review the classic IB technicals, as they are often relevant across different roles.
  2. Firm-Specific Knowledge:

    • Research the firm thoroughly. Know the recent news, deals, and any significant achievements of Deutsche Bank.
    • Understand the firm's culture and values, as this can help you tailor your responses and show that you are a good fit.
  3. Behavioral Questions:

    • Prepare to discuss your background, experiences, and why you are interested in the FIC role at Deutsche Bank.
    • Have a few interesting stories ready about past problems you solved or people you helped, as these can be useful for behavioral questions.

Case Study Preparation:

  1. Defend Your Position:

    • Be ready to defend your analysis and recommendations. Interviewers may play devil's advocate to test your reasoning and confidence.
    • Practice structuring your thoughts clearly and logically.
  2. Ask Questions:

    • Have insightful questions prepared to ask the interviewers. This shows your interest and engagement.

Technical Questions:

  1. Be Prepared for Variability:

    • Technical questions can vary widely depending on the interviewer. Some may focus on specific financial concepts, while others might ask about your background and experiences.
    • Be adaptable and ready to discuss a range of topics.
  2. Informational Interviews:

    • Conduct informational interviews with current analysts or professionals in the field to get a sense of the types of technical questions that might be asked.

Additional Tips:

  • Timing: If you have the option, try to schedule your interview earlier rather than later, as going early is generally preferred.
  • Practice: Mock interviews and case study practice can be very beneficial.
