Did I miss Sophomore SA internships?

Hi I recently transferred to a target school, during the transfer process I was told there was a near 100% chance I would be a freshmen. Since getting here a lot has changed and it seems there is a good chance I will be entering as a sophomore. While this is great in the since of time, I did not recruit for any sophomore programs due to thinking I was not a sophomore. My main question is are all the good sophomore opportunities gone already? Also, with the ones left would it be better to go for a brand name outside of IB or an IB firm that is regional and less known? Also, any other tips you have for someone to make up for missed opportunities please do lmk. Thank you everyone

Congrats on Cornell. Sophomore opportunities are usually only for diversity, which are done. Other non-diversity programs like BOFA and MS are also closed im pretty sure. Unless your diversity, your not behind - most sophomores work at a regional IB their sophomore summer. Sophomore summer is the least important summer (even more than freshman imo) because you receive your junior summer internship before even working during the summer. Don't worry, just try to find at least something for sophomore summer before the end of this year so you can put "incoming" on your resume and mainly focus on junior summer recruiting. you're fine you didn't miss anything.

I think my situation is a lot different than most tbh man. I had really strong ECs like really strong. I am diversity I’m sure that helped and i had a 3.9 GPA at a 4 year private institution that isn’t the hardest but it is definitely more prestigious (although non target for banking) then most public 4 years. My only advice would be to do it! Give it a shot and aim for a few different schools and you will land one maybe not your top but one of them (assuming you have done the leg work before hand), Also, I transferred to a top 15 school (think UM, NW, ND).
