did I miss summer recruiting season?
I worked at a buyside shop that is very well known within its industry focus. It is a top exit op for many GS JPM MS analysts in this specific industry. I worked their 3 times which tells me I'm not a horrible intern. I technically could go back but a lot of people there strongly suggested I work in the US as I don't fit very well with the Asia focus (languge barrier) They are just looking out for me saying if nothing else comes around, they'd happily take me back, but that would signal to them I couldn't find anything else.
I'm not getting any interviews for SA IBD and so I was wondering what I should do now? Its probably too late for BB recruiting. Is MM recruiting over as well? Are regional BBs done also? Should I shamelessly call up alumni asking for an interview? Should I focus on another buyside internship somewhere else? Should I try to find OCR on another campus and just submit my resume? Should I go to NYC and start handing out my resume?
Also, to give you a better understanding of my most recent PE internship that offered to take me back if i don't get in anywhere else.
I'm at an extreme disadvantage since I don't speak chinese indian or korean, especially chinese. I found my time in Shanghai very mentally and physically exhausting as I got very sick from the food, always had to watch my back, worked longer than normal since I needed to translate everything into english.
The PE internship also corners me into that industry (it would be my 4th time working in that industry focus with them) and also Asia.
There is plenty of recruiting still left, don't worry.
you are early for 2013
I know this doesn't really answer your question at all, but your resume seems too cramped and still needs a bit of work.
What does "Traveling China" mean? Listing programming as a hobby makes you seem weird. I wouldn't really consider tutoring a hobby either.
I'd also be curious as to why you're pursuing investment banking rather than something quantitative? Given your interest in programming and math major, this seems a bit odd.
On a side note, this is just a technicality, but not speaking Indian does not really put you at a disadvantage at all. Some might even venture to say that it is not even a language.
As it is such a large fund, is there any chance to transfer to the US?
You have a stellar CV, but when reading through it, it does not make me wet. From my point of view, there is just too much information which sounds too regular to me - btw, I don't believe that you really LED a team of analysts while being an analyst yourself, thats the associate's job.
I think you have to get rid of all that programming stuff in your cv. The kind of info bankers want to read is "performed due diligence, created valuation model, industry research, bla bla lba" rather than "programmed x, y and z".
