Do Back Office Jobs Get Training??

I will be starting as an Operations FT Analyst but HR has not informed me about any training. Do BO roles in BB usually get training like the IBD guys? If so, in NYC or where?

Yes when I started out, we got training. Except it wasn't like IBD at all...it was more along the lines of making macaroni pictures.

Yea its generally a week long (about two days are spent on capital markets) if your joining the analyst program. If not probably not most just receive on the job training.

Idk. Depends what bank I guess. I know barcap used to send them to london for 4-6 weeks.

It's like 1 week of basic financial markets training, where everyone asks questions like "what is libor" or "do you have a belly button". The rest of the training is all project management/six sigma/presentation skills type of shit. You'll have a blast. I used to go across the street to a pub for our lunch break and come back to training absolutely loaded. It helped.

Flake "do you have a belly button".

I enjoyed that!
