Do I really have to shave as a full-time analyst?

I am starting as a full-time analyst and will be returning to the office in the upcoming weeks. Am I making a professional mistake by coming into the office without being clean-shaven? Shaving to the skin causes me razor bumps due to my hair pattern( black male) and I find them unflattering. It is very common for black men in the military to receive shaving exceptions due to this condition. If this is acceptable in the most strict of professional fields, why can't these same rules apply in finance. However, I don't want to make the wrong impression in my first weeks on the job. What is my best way of navigating this issue?

I don't think anyone really gives a shit about your beard if it looks neat and clean

I saw some people with beards at BB IB, including some black men. Just make sure that it looks decent tbh. That's the main thing. I, BM, also avoided shaving for the longest because of that issue. I found that the dollar shave club gel + razor paired with the Duke Cannon after shave balm kept those bumps to a minimum. Especially if you shave like 2-3 times per week, it really helps. But, obviously, everyone's skin is different.
