Does a 3.6 put me at a disadvantage for recruiting BB or EB?

I go to a top target (think HYSWP). I will have about a 3.6 gpa by the end of first semester of sophomore year. I have a good amount of investment banking internships. Please be honest and let me know.

Yes, it’s certainly a negative (most EBs look for 3.8+ for non-diversity particularly given aggressive grade inflation these days) but should not prevent you from getting an offer if you still have compelling experience and network well. The key is to network well enough that people think of you personally by the time first round considerations come up vs just knowing you based on a piece of paper in front of them (and then making a snap judgement).

you want a 3.7/8 minimum, put that you have a 3.7 on your resume now, and make sure that you get A's in your fall and spring semester so by the time that when HR asks for your transcript in the spring of your junior year your gpa is near it.

What you can also do is include all current semesters classes factored in as As to your current gpa, that can bump it up a little and as long as you actually get decent grades this semester background check won’t be that far off.

I'm a bit confused what you mean- are you saying that I can assume I get all A's my second semester of sophomore yr and put a 3.7 on my resume? When do firms typically ask for transcripts, because my school yr will end around May 12th.

Also wondering the same. Like do banks look at your gpa before you applied like just your first semester or just that your cumulative matches up with what you put down when you applied during the onboarding process.
