Does CRE Experience Benefit IB Recruiting

Hey guys,

I'm currently a summer analyst at a top REPE shop in the asset management team. I've always wanted to break into investment banking, ideally within the real estate group (although I'm open to any group, I figured real estate would be most applicable to my experience). I was wondering if my current experience positions me well for recruiting into investment banking?

To note: I am a senior next year so my switch would have to be as a FT analyst. Would really appreciate the help/ any tips you may have here as this is essentially the last good chance of me breaking into the industry.
