No, they don't sponsor anymore, but they may make exceptions if ur diversity or ur well connected with senior MD's/partners.

For context, I recruited last year for SA 2023 and I'm a Canadian studying here in the US at an east coast super-target. Non-diversity and not dual citizen either (have 3 year STEM OPT but will need H1B/TN1 eventually). I networked with NY and they said to look at Lazard Toronto satellite office. Problem is, the Toronto office doesn't have an official recruiting pipeline, just a handful of senior guys up in Canada for relationship sakes but no execution and therefore no need for juniors.

 

I go to Ivey/Queens and Lazard Toronto has an official recruiting pipeline through these schools at least. Although they probably hire 1-2 interns max. Can confirm that New York doesn't sponsor but I know students at my school who interviewed at SF/LA
