Drug testing for SA

I know there have been threads about this before. Was wondering if anyone had any experience last summer or any info about drug testing (specifically for marijuana), going into a summer analyst role at an EB/BB. I’ve read some articles about pre employment testing for marijuana to be illegal but wanted to see if anyone has any additional insight.

Everyone I know who’s worked at a MM IB or botique hasn’t even been tested, me included. Assuming you actually want to keep smoking, I always stopped once I got a 1st round interview. Unlikely you can move from a 1st round to taking a drug test within 30 days. As another backup, you can always say a close friend of yours was exposed and you don’t feel comfortable leaving your house for 10 days or so. That buys you enough time to for sure dry out and even take a test you could buy online. This sounds a little paranoid but losing a job because you failed a drug test would be one of the biggest Fs of all time

incoming analyst who did SA at an EB last summer. Ended up not having to drug test but still don't think it's worth it. Just lay off for a month or 2. If you're reasonably chill with an older analyst doesn't hurt to ask him/her if she had to do a drug test but tread lightly

They can test current employees. For his purposes, it is illegal for him to be tested. I have done a significant amount of research on this myself in the past for the same reason as him including consulting a lawyer on the specific law language lol. That being said, to OP, the best thing to do is to just stop smoking for awhile.
