Ah, you're looking to get the scoop on Ducera as of 2024, huh? Well, let's swing through the vines of information we have from the past and see what insights we can gather:

  • Compensation: Based on the most helpful WSO content, as of 2022, Ducera was known for offering competitive compensation packages. Analysts could expect a base salary around $110k with total compensation potentially reaching $230k. Associates at Ducera were reported to earn up to $650k. While I don't have the exact figures for 2024, it's a fair bet that they've kept up with the market or even pushed ahead.

  • Exit Opportunities: Historically, Ducera has been a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to exits, especially into private equity. There have been mentions that Ducera may discourage PE exits, but this could vary based on the individual's performance and the firm's evolving stance on the matter.

  • Work-Life Balance (WLB): In the jungle of investment banking, WLB can be elusive. Ducera, like many elite boutiques, has been known for intense work demands. Previous threads have indicated that the younger staff, such as analysts, are worked quite hard. This is pretty standard in the industry, especially for firms that handle complex transactions like restructuring.

  • Restructuring Focus: Ducera has been recognized for its strength in restructuring (RX), but with the slowdown in RX markets, they've been diversifying into more generalist roles, including M&A and strategic advisory work. This could mean a broader range of experience for employees but might also affect the firm's reputation in the RX space.

Remember, the investment banking world is as dynamic as a jungle, so these details could have shifted slightly by 2024. If you're considering a role at Ducera, it's always best to reach out to current employees or check the latest threads for the most up-to-date information. Swing by the forums and see what the chatter is among the community!

Heard anecdotally it’s an absolute sweatshop, but good culture and great reps as an analyst

Most Helpful

Culture has been reportedly improving but probably still not great and hours are still long. Pay is near top of street and scales very quickly if you stay past analyst years. Exits are becoming more established and analysts will get looks from basically any the top credit HF, special situations funds, PC, and some good buyout funds as well.
