Econ / Engineering Double Major

So, I am currently studying engineering - I truly love math and science, but I would like to enter investment banking or something more finance-related as a career. I'm wondering if adding a econ double major would help me do this (it fits into my schedule). Furthermore, is it relatively normal for engineers to pursue finance?
