Emory/WashU/CMU/JHU Alumni

All four of these schools, as well as others like Tufts/W&L/CWRU all fall under the category of D3 semi-targets with no school spirit. Not looking to debate whether any of these names are semi-targets or non-targets, as they all are excellent institutions which place ambitious kids. Looking to gain more info about alumni bases at these types of semi/non-target schools that lack school spirit/unity. Are they less loyal/motivated to pull in alma mater students given that there's generally a lack of school pride from these schools? Does it generally require networking with non-alumni?

I didn't go to Emory but know a lot of people who did. Out of all of these schools Emory has the strongest placement and recruitment. As the commentor above said people who went to Emory usually have great pride in it. I went to Dartmouth so we definitely had more alums on the street but all my Emory friends did very well.

for what its worth cmu tepper actually places decently well most kids arent that interested in banking though. most of them want to end up as PM's or BA's for big tech companies. lots of kids with startup dreams but not that many ever make the jump

W&L does not belong in the same conversation as the other schools listed here. W&L might be lesser known in the grand scheme but their alumni are fiercely loyal and highly placed in the corridors of power. I’ve known a lot of fucking idiots who have graduated from that school in Lexington and most of those degenerates have failed upwards into bulge bracket positions at worst. Hell, I’m aware of one discrete pledge class that has kids at Stanford GSB, Blackstone PE, General Atlantic, and a smattering of BB/EB ASO/directors.

Emory is absolutely not a non-target. Its a top semi or even very low target
