Evercore Industrials

I’d appreciate any info on the Evercore Industrials team. I know they’re on a wide array of mandates but would like to know more about the team in general. Is it a pretty good distribution in covering everything from small cap to large cap? They’re looking for experienced analysts/assocs based on job postings. Are they expanding?

Thanks.

Large group with ~10 partners spread across different verticals. Benefits to this - Wide array of experiences and opportunities. You can simultaneously be staffed on a large corporate break up, an industrial tech SPAC / cap raise and/or regular way industrials M&A. Additionally, large analyst class (~15) with pretty solid camaraderie amongst the group. Negatives could potentially be that you don’t work with everyone in the group and don’t have relationships with the entire group. (Not fully possible due to size).

Generally speaking, the group works hard but associates/analysts are well respected. Analysts are given opportunities to take outsized responsibility on teams (which helps with development) but can require adjustments if used to different working style at another bank.

Junior culture is awesome. Definitely the biggest party / frat group (not a bad thing if you’re a big personality or like going out. I’d rather hang out with the industrials juniors over anybody my own group.) at Evercore. Senior culture is awful and one should expect to get yelled at daily. Hours are also awful. Deal flow is in-line with what you’d expect from most Evercore groups. Downside of a big group is the good work will get allocated to the favored members of the team, and if you’re not favored then, you’re going to get handed the shitty staffings due to politics. Most juniors in the team are really strong, so it’s hard to compete / keep up.
