Exit ops after a year of banking?

I was wondering how bad would exit ops be after one year of banking? Im looking to do growth equity but also been considering Corp dev and direct lending for wlb reasons (shop dependent of course).

Ideally my interests align more towards growth but i have come to realize that I value wlb much more. Could I possibly recruit for a decent growth equity shop (associate) and work somewhere else and relevant during the gap?

It’s pretty much all networking for 90% of the opportunities especially at the spots above entry level. Nyc and SF also are very different with who they want at the non large shop levels. Unless you’re going to a huge shop that recruits exclusively from BBs for middle management positions. I can think of insight partners as one spot. VC/GE recruiting is all over the place.
