Faked Diversity, am I fucked?

I might have fucked up. I recently got a BB/EB/MBB. During the application process, I ticked the box stating I was interested in the company's LGBTQ+ initiative and got connected to a mentor who then helped/coached me during the interview process.

Now that I have the offer, I wonder, how do I clean up this mess? Do I go to the affinity group events (which I'm totally cool with), and when bringing my female SO to the XMas party etc., just pretend it's normal (play it like I'm bi, have the biphobia coverage) or just try to disassociate from the affinity group (only being "out" to the admin/subscribing to the newsletter).

Would appreciate any advice I can get on how to deal with this.

Sexualities can change anyway across the years, so no one should hold it against you if you just say you've gone "off" men,  and tbh they shouldn't be asking, inappropriate and none of their business. If you want to play bi sure why not.

I dont think you've done anything wrong here, LGBTQ being "diversity" is so retarded lol

You don't have to do anything. Your colleagues didn't hire you only because LGBTQ. Just come in and be yourself. No one is asking you if you're straight or not. People are so busy that they don't care/remember what you are.

It's not uncommon to feel like you've made a mistake during the job application process, but the best course of action is to be honest with your future employer. If you misrepresented your interests, it's important to rectify the situation before you start the job.

You can approach the manager who helped you during the interview process and explain the situation. Let them know that you misunderstood the company's lgtpq plus initiative and express your genuine interests. It's also important to be clear about your commitment to the company and its values.

If your significant other is not comfortable attending company events, it's okay to decline the invitation or attend without them. It's always better to be honest and transparent about your circumstances, rather than pretending to be someone you're not.

In conclusion, clear communication and honesty are key in this situation. Good luck!

I either found compliance or a diversity that didn't get an offer

This is silly because the sexuality of OP is none of the company's business. Plenty of people who think they're sexually bendy or whatever in their 16-20s and then just not afterwards... People move in and out of stuff, so why should OP have to declare anything? He's done absolutely nothing wrong, and even though he's straight, what has he actually done? Taken the spot of another rich white dude that just happens to be gay? That person might have been even more privileged than he is! It's not like OP lied about being Latino or black or something.

OP just don't say anything. Your sexuality is nobody's business.
