Felt like an idiot my first IB interview prep session…

Not sure if anyone else has gone through this, but when I first started prepping for IB interviews I legit thought I was smart… until I tried walking through an accounting question with a friend and completely blanked. I couldn’t even explain how the 3 statements linked. I left the room thinking: “Am I actually cut out for this?”

For weeks I bounced between guides, YouTube videos, random notes from friends — and honestly just felt more confused. Every source said something different. Some nights I’d be up at 2am rereading the same DCF page and still not “getting it.”

What saved me was when an older student sent me a bunch of real questions they’d been asked in actual interviews. It sounds small, but having those gave me direction. Instead of guessing, I knew what to practice. That’s when things clicked — I wasn’t wasting time anymore, I was actually getting better.

I started collecting more of those from different people and built a little “bank” of my own. It’s nothing fancy — just the stuff I wish I had on day one.

If anyone’s in the same boat I was (lost, overwhelmed, second-guessing yourself), shoot me a DM or drop a comment. Happy to share it — no strings.

And honestly, if you’re feeling like you’re behind — you’re not alone. I promise way more people feel that way than you think.
