Final Round at Lazard – No Update After HR Interview

Hi everyone,

I’d appreciate some thoughts or shared experiences on this.

I recently went through the full interview process for an Equity Advisory Analyst position at Lazard. I passed the first and second rounds with the operational team, and last week I had the final HR interview. The conversation went well, lasted over an hour (more than the 45 minutes initially scheduled), and the HR told me they were down to 3 candidates for 2 spots. She mentioned she would get back to me by the end of this week unless the process took longer.

I followed up today (Friday) with a polite email, reaffirming my motivation and asking whether they had had the chance to discuss internally. No reply yet. I know it hasn’t been long, but the silence is nerve-wracking.

Has anyone been in a similar situation with Lazard or another EB (PJT, Evercore, etc.)? Especially being left in limbo like this after the final round? Any insight into how these final decisions usually go, and whether this kind of delay is a bad sign?

Thanks in advance — just trying to stay sane while waiting.
