Follow up after HR call?
Had a lateral phone screening with a recruiter last week. Got in touch with HR through a senior banker, D level, from the same bank but a different IB team that I applied to. Everything went well and the connection was able to confirm that HR is trying to connect me with the team that I applied to. When should I follow up? Don't want to push them too much but just I do need a general time frame. Seems like most forum posts here were talking about following up after Superday, but lateral recruiting seems less structural and more random. Thanks, if you guys can share your input.
Analyst (Cross Coverage Group Lateral) if that matters. Tough and competitive market now, and it seems like no news is bad news these days.
You should have reached out directly to someone on that team. HR probably shot your resume over to the staffer, who most likely ignored it. These internal referrals never work unless a senior MD or group head is passing it along.
Just email someone on that team and have a conversation.

it’s kinda late today. Usually I don’t respond to networking emails at this time. People are too busy to get things done and go home. I always have good response rates when I cold email in the morning. 9-10 ish.
